Dosed, published in 2012 by Beacon Press, gives voice to the “the medication generation” – the first group of young people to grow up taking psychiatric medications.
Dosed weaves together the stories of five young adults from diverse backgrounds, following them from the time they were diagnosed as children and teens through the present day.
The book combines individual narratives with cultural history and evidence from the medical and social science literature on the short and long-term effects of taking psychiatric medications. It also draws on my personal experience taking medication since high school.
